What is the tadalafil, oxytocin and PT-141 tablet?
This is a compounded rapid-dissolve tablet (RDT) with three ingredients. Tadalafil is a PDE5 inhibitor that helps blood flow for erections. Oxytocin is a hormone involved in bonding and sexual response. PT-141 (bremelanotide) is a peptide that acts on desire pathways in the brain. The tablet dissolves in the mouth, so there are no needles.
It is compounded by a licensed 503A pharmacy and is not FDA-approved. This combination has not been studied or approved as a single product, and research on oxytocin and PT-141 in tablet form is limited. A prescription is required, and a licensed provider decides whether it is appropriate.

Safety information
Never take this tablet, which contains tadalafil, if you take any nitrate medicine (such as nitroglycerin or isosorbide), use nitrate drugs sometimes called poppers, or take riociguat. The combination can drop blood pressure to unsafe levels. Alpha-blockers and other blood pressure medicines need extra care, so list every medication in your intake.
Full safety information
Possible side effects include headache, flushing, nausea, indigestion, back pain, stuffy nose and dizziness. The PT-141 in this tablet can raise blood pressure for several hours and may cause nausea or, with frequent use, darker skin patches. It is compounded by a licensed 503A pharmacy and is not FDA-approved.
Get emergency care for an erection lasting more than 4 hours, sudden vision loss in one or both eyes, sudden hearing loss, or chest pain, dizziness or fainting during sex. If you have heart disease, your provider will check whether sexual activity is safe for you.
What is in the tadalafil, oxytocin and PT-141 tablet?
It combines three ingredients in one rapid-dissolve tablet: tadalafil, a PDE5 inhibitor that supports blood flow for erections; oxytocin, a hormone involved in bonding and sexual response; and PT-141 (bremelanotide), a peptide that acts on desire pathways in the brain. It is compounded by a licensed 503A pharmacy for an individual prescription and is not FDA-approved.
Is this combination tablet FDA-approved?
No. This tablet is compounded by a licensed 503A pharmacy and is not FDA-approved. The combination has not been studied or approved as a single product, and it has not been reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness or quality. A licensed provider weighs whether it is a reasonable option for you based on your health history and goals.
How is it different from taking tadalafil alone?
Tadalafil alone helps blood flow for erections during arousal, but it does not change desire. This tablet adds PT-141, which acts on desire in the brain, and oxytocin, a hormone tied to closeness. That can make sense when both erections and desire are concerns. Tadalafil alone has far more research behind it. Your provider helps you decide which fits.
How do I take a rapid-dissolve tablet?
A rapid-dissolve tablet is placed in the mouth, usually under the tongue or against the cheek, and allowed to dissolve rather than swallowed whole. Your provider and pharmacy label give the exact directions and timing for your prescription. Do not take more than prescribed, and do not combine it with other ED medicines unless your provider tells you to.
Can I take this tablet if I use nitrates?
No. Because this tablet contains tadalafil, it must never be taken with nitrate medicines such as nitroglycerin or isosorbide, nitrate drugs called poppers, or riociguat. The combination can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. If you have chest pain after taking it, tell emergency staff you took tadalafil so they can treat you safely.
What are the side effects?
The most common are headache, flushing, nausea, indigestion, back pain and a stuffy nose. PT-141 can raise blood pressure for several hours and cause nausea. Rare but serious effects include an erection lasting more than 4 hours and sudden vision or hearing loss, which need emergency care. Report any side effects to the care team so your provider can adjust your plan.
