What is sildenafil?
Sildenafil is a prescription medicine in the PDE5 inhibitor class, used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). It helps more blood flow into the penis during sexual arousal. It does not cause an erection by itself and does not increase desire.
FDA-approved generic sildenafil is widely prescribed for ED. Your KIN Meds medication is dispensed by a licensed U.S. pharmacy. Depending on the strength and form your provider prescribes, it may be compounded by a licensed 503A pharmacy, and compounded medications are not FDA-approved. KIN Meds prescribes sildenafil, not the brand-name product. A prescription is required.

Safety information
Never take sildenafil if you take any nitrate medicine (such as nitroglycerin or isosorbide), use nitrate drugs sometimes called poppers, or take riociguat. The combination can drop blood pressure to unsafe levels. Alpha-blockers and other blood pressure medicines need extra care, so list every medication in your intake.
Full safety information
Common side effects include headache, flushing, upset stomach, stuffy nose, dizziness, and vision changes such as a blue tint, blurring or light sensitivity. They are usually mild and short-lived.
Get emergency care for an erection lasting more than 4 hours, sudden vision loss in one or both eyes, sudden hearing loss, or chest pain, dizziness or fainting during sex. If you have heart disease, your provider will check whether sexual activity is safe for you.
Viagra® is a brand name originally developed by Pfizer, and sildenafil is the name of the medicine itself. KIN Meds prescribes sildenafil, not brand Viagra®, and is not affiliated with the brand owner. FDA-approved generic sildenafil exists. If your provider prescribes a compounded form, it is made by a licensed 503A pharmacy and is not FDA-approved, so it is not the brand product.
How long before sex should I take sildenafil?
Per its FDA label, sildenafil is usually taken about 1 hour before sexual activity, though it can be taken from 30 minutes up to 4 hours before. A heavy, high-fat meal can slow it down. It only works with sexual arousal. Do not take it more than once a day. Your provider sets your dose and explains the timing that fits your plan.
Sildenafil or tadalafil: which is better?
Neither is better for everyone. Sildenafil is taken shortly before sex and works for several hours, which suits people who plan ahead. Tadalafil works for a longer window and can be taken daily, which suits people who want more spontaneity. Both help blood flow, both have similar side effects, and neither can be combined with nitrates. A licensed provider helps you choose.
Can I get sildenafil online?
Yes. With KIN Meds you complete a private online intake about your health, medications and symptoms. A licensed provider reviews it, usually in 24 hours or less, and decides whether treatment is appropriate. There are no waiting rooms. If sildenafil is prescribed, it ships from a licensed U.S. partner pharmacy in discreet packaging. If treatment is not appropriate, you are not charged for treatment.
Can I drink alcohol with sildenafil?
A drink or two is usually not a problem, but heavy drinking can make erections harder and can add to dizziness, headache and low blood pressure when combined with sildenafil. If you drink regularly, say so in your intake. Your provider can factor it into whether sildenafil fits you and how to take it safely.
What are the side effects of sildenafil?
The most common are headache, flushing, upset stomach, stuffy nose, dizziness and short-lived vision changes such as a blue tint. Rare but serious effects include an erection lasting more than 4 hours, sudden vision or hearing loss, and fainting. Get emergency care for any of those. Report side effects to the care team so your provider can adjust your plan.
A few quick questions, then a licensed provider reviews your intake in 24 hours or less. If treatment is not appropriate, you are not charged for treatment.
