GLP-1 care, minus the waiting room

GLP-1 medicines work with the hormones that tell your brain you are full. They are prescription medicines, so everything starts with a short online intake that a licensed provider reviews in 24 hours or less.

KIN Meds offers two separate paths. FDA-approved brand-name GLP-1 medications for weight care, prescribed for their FDA-approved uses like chronic weight management, and compounded GLP-1 options for metabolic health support, made by a licensed 503A pharmacy and not FDA-approved. They are different products, and your provider helps you compare them honestly.

Know this

The good-to-know.

1Snoring, tired, and carrying extra weight?

Zepbound® is FDA-approved for moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea in adults with obesity, as well as chronic weight management. If you snore, wake up gasping or feel wiped out every day, mention it in your intake so the provider can factor it in.

2Protect your muscle as your metabolism changes

When appetite drops, protein and muscle can drop too. Aim for protein at every meal, lift or do resistance work a few days a week, and ask the care team how your plan supports strength.

3Hair shedding after big changes

Some people notice extra shedding a few months after a big metabolic change, often from a temporary condition called telogen effluvium. Hair care from KIN Meds is coming soon.

FAQ

Good questions.

Kind answers.

What is the difference between brand-name and compounded GLP-1 medications?

Brand-name GLP-1 medications are FDA-approved products made by the manufacturer, with a full label and clinical trial data behind them. Compounded GLP-1 medications are prepared by a licensed 503A pharmacy for an individual patient. They are not FDA-approved and have not been reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness or quality. Your licensed provider can walk you through both and decide what is appropriate for you.

How do I get a GLP-1 prescription online?

Start with the KIN Meds online intake. You answer questions about your health history, current medicines and goals. A licensed provider reviews it in 24 hours or less and decides whether a GLP-1 is appropriate. If it is, your prescription is sent to a licensed U.S. partner pharmacy and shipped to you with expedited shipping, cold-packed when needed.

Who is a good candidate for GLP-1 care?

Brand-name GLP-1 medications are FDA-approved for specific uses, such as chronic weight management in adults with obesity, or overweight plus a weight-related condition. Compounded GLP-1 options are not FDA-approved and are offered for metabolic health support only when a licensed provider decides they are appropriate. None are for people with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2, or people who are pregnant. A licensed provider reviews your full history first.

Do I need labs before starting a GLP-1?

Not always. Many people can start based on their intake and recent health history, and your provider will tell you if labs are needed. Labs can help with blood sugar, kidney function, cholesterol and thyroid questions. If you need them, you can go to a lab near you, use an at-home kit, or book mobile phlebotomy in select states.

Do I need a video visit for GLP-1 care?

KIN Meds GLP-1 care is asynchronous. You complete an online intake and a licensed provider reviews it in 24 hours or less, so there is no appointment to schedule and no waiting room. You can message the care team any time with questions about dosing, side effects or refills, and your provider follows up as your plan changes.

Can GLP-1 medications cause hair loss or muscle loss?

Big metabolic changes, including a significant change in weight from any cause, can bring temporary hair shedding, usually a few months in, and can take some muscle along with it. Eating enough protein, doing resistance exercise and staying hydrated all help. Tell the care team if you notice shedding or feel weaker, so your provider can review your plan and dose.

What happens if the provider says treatment is not right for me?

If a licensed provider reviews your intake and decides treatment is not appropriate, you are not charged for treatment. The provider may explain why, suggest a different option in KIN Meds care, or recommend you see a local doctor first. That decision is based on your health history, current medicines and safety, not on which product you picked in the quiz.
