KIN Meds FAQ: straight answers, no runaround

Getting started

How do I get started with KIN Meds?

Pick the care area that matches what you're feeling, or use the 60-second care finder if you're not sure. Then complete a secure health intake. A licensed provider reviews it and decides whether treatment is appropriate for you.

Where is KIN Meds available?

Care is available nationwide through providers licensed in your state. Some treatments are not offered in every state; NAD+ and sermorelin, for example, are not available in California. If you're unsure about your state, contact the care team.

How old do I need to be?

You must be 18 or older. Women's hormone care online starts at 35. If you are under 18, please see a local primary care provider.

Why do I need to upload a photo ID and a selfie?

State regulations require providers to confirm who they are treating. That's why we ask for a photo of your ID and a picture of yourself during intake.

Is it legal to get a prescription online?

Yes. Every provider you work with is licensed to treat patients and prescribe in the state where you live, and a prescription is always required.

Visits & providers

How long does the provider review take?

Most KIN Meds care is an online review completed in 24 hours or less. If your provider needs more details, the care team will reach out through your account.

Will I have a video visit?

TRT for men, and women's hormone therapy for ages 35 to 39, include a video visit with your provider. Women 40 and older are reviewed online. Most other care areas are reviewed online, though some states require a live visit for certain treatments. We'll let you know if yours does.

What if the provider says treatment isn't right for me?

A licensed provider decides whether treatment is appropriate. If they decide it is not, you are not charged for treatment. They may suggest another option, labs, or a follow-up with your own doctor.

Can I message my provider or care team?

Yes. Message the care team through your account any time with questions about your plan, side effects, timing or refills.

Labs

Do I need labs?

It depends on your care area. Women 40 and up can start hormone care without labs; women 35 to 39 do labs first. TRT always starts with labs, or testosterone labs from the last 30 days. For other treatments, your provider may recommend them.

How do I get my labs done?

Choose a lab near you, an at-home kit, or mobile phlebotomy in select states, where a trained professional comes to you. Lab partners may include Quest Diagnostics.

What does KIN Labs test?

KIN Labs panels cover 120+ biomarkers across areas like heart health, metabolism, hormones, thyroid, kidney and liver. Results appear in your account, and a licensed provider reviews what they mean for your care.

Prescriptions & pharmacy

Which pharmacies fill my prescription?

Prescriptions are filled by licensed U.S. partner pharmacies, including Rush Pharmacy and Strive Pharmacy, that meet federal and state requirements.

Are compounded medications FDA-approved?

No. Compounded medications are prepared for individual patients by a licensed 503A pharmacy. They are not FDA-approved and have not been reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness or quality. Brand-name medications like Wegovy® and Zepbound® are FDA-approved.

How do refills work?

Most treatments come in a 30-day or 90-day supply. Request a refill through your account, and your provider reviews your progress before approving more.

Can I return medication after it arrives?

No. Federal and state law do not allow prescription medications to be returned, so all medication sales are final. If you have a concern about your order, contact the care team and we'll help.

Shipping

How long does shipping take?

Orders ship expedited once your prescription is filled. Shipping is discreet and included, cold-packed when needed.

Do I need to sign for my package?

In most cases, no. Orders typically ship with no-contact delivery, so a signature is not required.

How do I change my shipping address?

Update your address any time in your KIN Meds account. If an order has already shipped, the new address applies to future shipments.

Billing & account

Can I change or cancel my order?

We begin processing orders as soon as they are placed, so orders cannot be changed or canceled once processing starts. For anything else, see our Returns policy page or contact the care team.

When am I charged for medication?

You are billed for medication when it ships, based on the treatment plan you choose. There is no membership and no hidden fees.

Do you take insurance?

No, KIN Meds does not accept insurance. You see the cost of your care up front before you commit.

How do I update my payment method?

Log in to your KIN Meds account and follow the prompts to change your card at any time.

What if I have a problem with my order or account?

Contact the care team through the Contact page or your account and we'll review it and get back to you.

Privacy & safety

Is my information safe?

Yes. Your health information is handled in line with HIPAA and kept in your secure account. See our Privacy Policy and HIPAA Notice for details.

What should I do in an emergency?

Call 911. KIN Meds is not for emergencies. If you have chest pain, trouble breathing, signs of a stroke, a severe allergic reaction, or thoughts of harming yourself, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
